Success and M&M's

I have been thinking over the last couple of days about why people struggle to get want the want. I mean with life being so short don’t you think that we should just get out of life what we want. Shouldn’t it be easy?
I think our focus on goals is like having a bag of M&M’s…….. Now I know you are saying, Wow…. John is crazy, he has actually lost it. Nope here is the poop.
If I was to sit down with you with a bag of M&M’s and said I would give you $100 for every Yellow M&M you handed me you would say ok, open the bag and get all the yellow M&M’s and hand them to me. Then if you were smart you would walk to the store and buy more bags to open to find more to give me. Do the math for every dollar you spent on a bag of M&M’s you would get at least $300 in return.
OK…. Now you are really saying what the heck is he talking about.
Alright, what was your goal? Your goal was to find all the yellow M&M’s. That was your focus that was your goal PERIOD. You didn’t sit there and try to convince the green M&M’s to turn yellow and you didn’t sit and cry and say why couldn’t I have more yellow M&M’s in the bag. You just made it happen.
Now back to reality……… You and I set goals that we know are reachable then we sabotage ourselves. We start asking those questions like why don't others see what I see (like trying to convince the green M&M to be yellow) or we see other challenges that stop us (instead of going to the store to buy more bags of M&M’s).
So every time that challenge comes up or you start talking yourself out of your goal ask yourself this question, “What color M&M’s am I dealing with here?”. If it is not yellow move on.........
To your success............
